Multibody System Software Development and Consulting
CDI engineers continuously work on developing the state-of-the-art multibody system (MBS) software as well as software for the simulation of railroad vehicle systems. The codes developed by CDI represent a new software technology that is based on successful Integration of Computer Aided Design and Analysis (I-CAD-A). New finite element (FE) formulations and MBS algorithms that allow for developing models with significant details are used. CDI computer programs are designed to solve complex and large scale systems that consist of interconnected rigid and flexible bodies. These codes have efficient implementation of both the small deformation floating frame of reference (FFR) formulation and the large deformation absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF). CDI computer programs have an extensive library of standard joint and force elements.
